Members of the Ugandan Community in Victoria, Australia, Recognized at Appreciate Her Awards

March 2025 was a momentous month for the Ugandan community in Victoria Australia, as three outstanding members were recognized at the Appreciate Her Awards, an initiative organized by Afro Aussie Women in Business to honor women making a difference in their communities.

Community members Theresa Sengaaga Ssali and Olivia Nakazibwe Kitooke were nominated in the categories of Community Impact and Empowerment, respectively. At the awards ceremony held on March 29, Theresa was honored as the winner of the Community Impact Award in recognition of her over 20 years of outstanding community service, while Olivia was celebrated as a finalist for the Empowerment Award.

Adding to the celebration, Janipher Nambooze, another dedicated member of the Ugandan community, received the Champion Award for her unwavering commitment to community service.

The Ugandan community takes immense pride in these remarkable women, whose dedication and contributions continue to inspire and uplift others. Their achievements highlight the strength of community spirit and the power of service in making a lasting impact.
